The Dates

Denver Area Tennis Enthusiasts (D.A.T.E), the premier Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender tennis group in the metro Denver area is pleased to host the Rocky Mountain Open June 5-7, 2009. Our event begins with a draw party, to be held June 4, continues with matches scheduled for June 5 and 6, includes a closing night banquet on the 6th, and concludes with the final matches and awarding of tournament trophies on June 7th.

The Location

All tournament play takes place on the outdoor hard courts of Gates Tennis Center - a public tennis facility that has been ranked nationally in the "Top Ten" by Tennis magazine. In early 2008, Gates Tennis Facility completed an extensive renovation project including the building of a new club house/tennis pro-shop overlooking the tennis facility. When you're not playing or watching others, you'll want to check out Cherry Creek Shopping Center (www.shopcherrycreek.com) located just across the street.

Draw Party

Our draw party is sponsored by and will be held at JR's Bar & Grill, located at 777 E 17th Ave, Denver, Colorado 80203. Click here for directions.

The party is scheduled from 5-8:30pm. We'll have sandwiches, salads/sides and plenty of appetizers for everyone. We'll also hand out goodie bags and post the tournament draws as we kick off the 2009 Rocky Mountain Open!

We have the entire 2nd floor reserved for our party, which includes a full bar and patio. At 8:30, the upstairs will be opened to the public, so feel free to stick around a while. We have some amazing drink specials lined up for the evening:
