The Dates

Denver Area Tennis Enthusiasts (D.A.T.E), the premier Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender tennis group in the metro Denver area is pleased to host the Rocky Mountain Open June 7-9, 2008. Our event begins with a draw party, to be held June 6, continues with matches scheduled for June 7 and 8, includes a closing night banquet on the 8th, and concludes with the final matches and awarding of tournament trophies on June 9th.

The Location

All tournament play takes place on the outdoor hard courts of Gates Tennis Center - a public tennis facility that has been ranked nationally in the "Top Ten" by Tennis magazine. In early 2008, Gates Tennis Facility will have completed an extensive renovation project including the building of a new club house/tennis pro-shop overlooking the tennis facility. When you're not playing or watching others, you'll want to check out Cherry Creek Shopping Center (www.shopcherrycreek.com) located just across the street.

Draw Party

Our draw party is sponsored by and will be held at Club M in Hamburger Mary's Bar & Grill located at 700 E 17th Ave, Denver, Colorado 80203. Click here for directions.

The festivities are scheduled from 6-9:30pm. Everyone registered for the tournament will be given a free drink ticket, and we'll have plenty of appetizers for everyone. We'll also hand out goodie bags, T-shirts and more as we kick off the Rocky Mountain Open. For those who want to stay a bit later, there is a free drag show following the draw party. Banquet Details

Our banquet will be held in the second floor ballroom of The Warwick Hotel located at 1776 Grant Street, Denver, CO 80203 on Sunday night June 8.

The Warwick is within walking distance (.05 miles) from our draw party site, (Hamburger Mary's), and blocks from 2 other gay bars including Jr's Bar and Grill (www.myjrs.com) and the Wrangler (www.denverwrangler.com).

Beginning at 6:30pm feel free to enjoy the cash bar and then to bid on a plethora of silent auction items. We'll also be selling raffle tickets for a number of GLTA tournament entries.

At 7:45 the banquet room doors open. Dinner is a seated event so if you show up late your food may be cold! After you've had a chance to enjoy your meal, we'll have plenty of entertainment, a couple of live auction items (including a three day stay at the Bluemoon Resort in Las Vegas) and wrap everything up around 9:30 - just in time to rest up for the final matches on Monday, June 9.
